Miscellaneous bits of lore about the land and its inhabitants.

An impossibly deep lake sits at the middle of the Caldera, which itself is in the heart of the mountain range. The devastation of a long ago eruption is still visible in the high cliffs and foothills that surround the area, but vegetation has thrived. Islands dot the lake, though they are made up of a mass of floating roots, a water plant that binds together to form land solid enough to support small populations of fauna and other flora.

The higher altitudes boast stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape, and clearer days offer a view all the way to the Endless Desert. The air is thin up here, but alpine meadows and rocky crags offer shelter, food, and water to anyone that braves the heights.

The Tails make up a string of long lakes fed by many mountain tributaries. They very in size, some stretching or miles, others barely more than a pond.

The wide swath of trees that surrounds the central mountains offers an impossible array of species and zones. Densely packed conifer groves neighbor loose copses of deciduous trees, as well as thick swamplands choked with mangroves and willows. The impossible climate allows for strange mixed groves, and treacherous grounds.
