Shinobi Rising - An Alternate Universe Naruto RP

Shinobi Rising is a Naruto-inspired roleplay forum that is set long before even the birth of Madara or Hashirama. In this world the shinobi live in secret, not only hiding from one another, but the populace at large. Chakra is still reveled, but the Daimyo rely on the Samurai to act as their armies and their personal guards. Ninja are employed for secret, undercover work. Being a ninja in this world means living a double life.

Clans tend to live in their own villages, where they serve as the feudal lord of the area, still pledging fealty to the might of their country's Daimyo. The capital cities are the center of commerce for the country as well as the center of military might. The majority of people live in these capitals, these sprawling metropolises protected by different forces to keep away the tailed beasts, and other demons.

Though clans hate one another, they often will work missions together for the gold the Daimyo offer. The pursuit of happiness, of wealth, supersedes the hatred these clans keep for one another, and often results in them banding together against what they can agree is a greater evil.

For this is a land where demons and devils, Yokai, roam freely and unchained. With the exception of one known Yokai in the land of Earth, these foul beasts want nothing more than to wreck havoc on the lives of the common people. Samurai and Shinobi are constantly doing battle with these monsters, as well as one another. For the most part though, that is a secret war, only spoken of in whispers. That is why it is policy as a shinobi, to never say your family name outside of your home. There is a fake family name each shinobi keeps for country affairs, but then there's the family name that means something to anyone who knows of Shinobi and their powers.

This is a time of turmoil. How will you and your clan rise to power? Or will you attempt to maintain the status quo? What families will form alliances? What betrayals will you sow? This story is as much yours as it is ours, and we are eager to see how you will help to shape it! Get ready for Chapter One, the new generation.
